William Waples

William uses teaching methods that are proven and in use today by the top players in the music industry.

You'll learn the tension/release technique, learning to read music and how to groove. All styles of drumming broadly surveyed to allow you to go wherever you want with your drumming. We often record lessons for your personal study.

William describes his love of teaching, "It allows me to give back to people what I feel I have gained from my teachers and to give my best students access to the world of professional drumming. I want to give what I’ve learned: tech, endurance, knowing and understanding the craft and their role as a drummer. "

Born in Brooklyn N.Y. William began playing drums at the early age of 5, noticing his talent and love for drums William’s mother made sure that all of his lower level schooling had musical curriculums, William graduated from Erasmus Hall High School the home to such stars as Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond, Stephanie Mills, Will Downing and many many more.

Inspired by greats such as the late Buddy Rich and Art Blakey and later on the great Tony Williams, Billy Cobham and Carlos Vega, William began to focus on his craft which allowed him the privileges of playing with great artists such as Wilton Felder of The Crusaders, Michael Cooper and Felton Pilot of Con-funk-shun, Michael Lington, Rustee Allen with Sly and the Family Stone and others. William is currently an endorser for Paiste cymbals, Aquarian drum heads, Mono cases and has a great relationship with Tama drums.
