Matt Ortiz

Matt has been playing and studying for many years. His main styles are blues, folk, jazz and classic rock but like many young players hard rock and metal were his first musical attractions.

For the last two and half years Matt's been studying at 851 Music Studio with instructor J Shelby. Since that time playing the guitar has changed from a hobby to, as Matt says, "... an essential part of my being. I feel wrong if I go a day without playing."

"Music of many different kinds has always been present in my life starting from an early age."

Matt has enjoyed singing since children's choir in elementary school and has furthered his musical studies with piano, harmonica, and drums.
